• As an SDM in the AWS space, I have managed multiple teams with a mixture of SDMs, SDEs and Technical Product Managers. Additionally we work closely with Data Engineers, Research Scientists, Applied Scientists and Machine Learning Scientists. In my current role at AWS EC2 demand planing, I lead teams in developing software solutions to tackle complex business problems related to capacity planning and infrastructure optimization. Our systems intelligently map logical instance demand to physical data center servers, ensuring efficient resource allocation. By leveraging advanced forecasting models and optimization techniques, we streamline supply chain operations to minimize costs while maintaining high availability and scalability. This involves collaborating closely with product, finance, and infrastructure teams to align demand forecasts with real-world supply constraints, ultimately driving operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness at scale. The software my teams own drives the many billions of dollars in CapEx that AWS spends every year, and our projects help improve AWS utilization to reduce CapEx by 100s of millions of dollars every year.
