I am a technology executive and startup advisor with a decade of experience that includes both CTO and hands-on engineering roles with distinguished organizations and startups in Mexico and India. As CTO of Mexico’s largest B2C payments platform UnDosTres, I built and scaled an engineering organization from scratch to 80 employees across three time zones, and led delivery and scaling of platforms, mobile apps, and machine learning solutions to support the business as it grew sales 12x with millions of users. As a leader, I am driven by high standards for effectiveness and efficiency, and a desire to build reliable and maintainable fault-tolerant distributed systems used worldwide. Oxytocin

I founded Oxytocin to deliver technology projects as a consultant, and hired 50 engineers to deliver 10 projects for companies with up to $10M annual revenue across five countries. My engagements included two interim-CTO roles.
Client engagement highlights:
Tactical (UAE digital agency) Led 10-member team in delivery of Prism, an AdTech content personalization system that delivers thousands of personalized ad creatives via cloud without manual intervention to scale delivery of creatives for large clients. The product was delivered in four months.
StoryJam (venture-backed early stage startup fostering deeper social connections) Drove a six-member team in delivery of social audio rooms and a voice modulation platform with event management features in two months. The product contributed to the company’s $125K raise from ODX accelerator post-release.

UnDosTres is Mexico’s largest B2C payments platform ($50M annual sales, 15M annual transactions, 4M app downloads). I joined as employee #3 after a seed round and earned promotions to VP and CTO roles as they grew to 150 employees within Mexico and India. During this time I built and led a 80-member engineering organization as sales grew 12x ($4M to $50M).
Leadership highlights:
Established Technology Center in India to address Mexican labor market shortages and visa constraints.
Participated in investor due diligence processes in seed and Series A investment rounds that secured $11.3M.
Designed technology hiring process including an online screening test and preliminary culture fit interviews.
Established a college recruitment program in India at six top schools, leading to growth from 2 to 15 engineers in one month. This program expanded to thirty top schools by the end of 2020.
Technical highlights:
Designed and independently built scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS, improving uptime by 5% to 99.9% for 50K daily transactions processing $50M in annual sales.
Built machine learning architecture for real-time fraud detection that ingests 6M daily points of information. The systems reduced fraud from 5% to 1% during tenure.
Built the iOS, Huawei app and bill payment features that enabled 20% daily transactions. Apps on Apple, Google, Huawei stores have 4M+ cumulative downloads with 4.6/5 rating.
