About

In my 16 years of professional experience I have played a variety of roles at software firms that specialized in digital transformation, digital platforms, home automation, CRM, capital market, e-discovery, and disclosure management, including Product Manager, Product Owner, Business Analyst, Scrum Master, and Sales Executive. In the waterfall development period, I used to write BRD, FSD, detailed use case documents, and supporting materials. Then, in agile processes like Scrum and XP, those have been changed to user stories, workflow designs, and digital prototypes. The software requirements are currently being defined using hypothesis cards, lean value trees, and outcome-based product development.

  • Exterro is a software product company primarily in the legal / e-discovery domain. Joined this company with a very limited BA experience and no experience on legal domain but it turned out to be my turning point in my professional career.
  • Exterro taught me the actual roles and responsibilities of a BA (earlier I used to do whatever things comes on my way), gave client exposure, worked with different stakeholders, for sure the domain and it introduced me to different technologies.
  • I too brought few changes into the organization, like the way in which BAs and other roles interacted in their day to day business, organising stories, development process, etc.
  • I joined as a senior business analyst and was promoted as a lead. I was a core contributor and parallely led a small team.

Senior Business Analyst

Sep 2010Jan 2012 · 1 yr 4 mos

  • My primary role in BNY Mellon was to understand the business processes of AML & Compliance and improvise it by bringing the right level of automation.
  • In this short period, I built a two step automation on data aggregation which can reduce a 6 hours to a 30 mins manual process. The first step is an ETL where it extracts data from different sources, transforms it into a common format which can be understood by the processor and loads it into a common database. The second step is an Analyzer which works on the data in the database and produces the report which can be used for the manual review.
