Assisted with processing appeals for the following areas of review: Inpatient Hospital Discharges, Rehabilitation hospital stays, Admission Hospital-Issued Notices of Noncoverage (HINNS), Skilled Nursing Facilities, Hospice Care and Home Health Care. Prepared the departments for audits and ensured that the departments was in accordance with the CMS Guidelines. Lead the project of implementing a new paperless fax system, FaxCom through the tri-state area. Compiled a manual of how to use the system and fully trained all three states. This program was functional from July 2013 to June 2014 when the department closed due to changes in CMS guidelines for Case Review Departments nationwide. Managed the FaxCom system and helped with maintenance, technical issues and problems that occurred. Post implementation included strategic planning of resolution, best practices and further education to avoid similar issues.

This entailed gathering training knowledge from APS Healthcare and assisting in implementing the new system throughout our department by training all staff including: managers, nurses, physicians and other clerical assistants.
