Successfully completed internship at IIT Bombay and also created MOOC course for IIT Bombay on 16 bit MIPS processor design on FPGA . Here our main aim was to develop a 16 bit MIPS processor from scratch and implement and test it on real time FPGA .
We started with the basic digital and memory block and than going ahead with ALU , CONTROL UNIT , DATA PATH and finally integrated them to form a complete processor which can perform 14 different instructions . Followed by a Assembler which was used to convert the assembly level program to binary.
We designed our design blocks using VERILOG and HDL . We also used python based automated testing environment called COCOTB . We also learnt essentials of automating testing.
