Our vision is a professional membership body concerning informed and constructive conservation.
Our mission is to work for the benefit of society by conserving the historic built environment, safeguarding the well-being of historic buildings and enhancing the experience of living in a historic context.
Our values are imbued in the ethical, transparent and inclusive professional conduct.
ICAC aims to fill the current gap in the heritage conservation milieu in India by providing:
a strong voice, by ensuring that the aspects of heritage conservation and the expertise of conservation architects are better understood and valued by clients, policy-makers and the public;
a solid profession, by supporting the highest professional ethics and standards, and by creating opportunities for dialogue amongst the members on the challenges and opportunities of working in this field;and

The main objectives behind the founding of ICAC are:
a) to develop and promote the highest standards of conservation practice,

The Government of Maharashtra State in India in an effort to review and conserve the 350 year old pilgrimage from Dehu and Alandi in Pune District to Pandharpur in Solapur District - a distance of 250km that is traversed on foot by almost 120,000 people twice a year has undertaken a Rs 4,500,000,000 project to improve and upgrade the towns and villages that are a part of this pilgrimage. The PDG is a consortium of 7 firms based in Pune that has been working over the last 3 years as consultants and project managers for the Government of Maharashtra.

The project is taking very long but we have found out that though the partners are separately working with their own practices and are spaced out by 15 to 30 years in age, we can work together and fruitfully contribute to the conservation of one of Pune's important historic landmark.
