• Interesting problem statement about automating a construction domain DWG files creation.
• Most important bit was we had a user base in that company and they were ready to fund us .
• Worked for a new product Ayaam in 3D space where we wanted to automate the creation of basic Rebar drawings.Decided to use Java graphics i.e A java based scengraph (Xith3d ) on top of JOGL .
• Learned first hand , How difficult it is to choose a technology stack and to stick with it for a considerable part of project life-cycle and how important to have a way out i.e be able to replace one without rewriting everything.
• But it was fun and working on 3D Maths - Splines,Breps , Nurbs and coding them was real fun.
• From 2 we grew to 12 with a full testing team etc so very good experience in setting a new project/product.
