• Managed an org of ~60 engineers and managers to provide clean data with guaranteed SLAs despite the volume, velocity, and variety of Visa's data. My team built systems for closed-loop data governance on '000s of datasets and '00s of PB of payment transaction data in Visa's data lake. The systems handle all aspects of data governance like quality, security, lineage, discovery, backup, and retention to make mission critical datasets (representing billions of transactions WW) available to Visa and its partners.

• Owned systems that have a goal is to find products and brands missing on Amazon's catalog. We used Web Mining, Information Retrieval, Machine Learning, Predictive Analytics, and Cluster Computing to continuously and programaticaly expand Amazon's catalog. I headed the engineering team in India comprising of 6 sub-teams of ~50 engineers and scientists. The team also built the Compute and Data Platform on top of AWS to enable a shared cluster and data lake for ~200 engineers in Amazon’s Catalog systems.

• Managed an Engineering team for the retail business. My team created the software and tools that makes the earth's biggest catalog even bigger. State of the art information retrieval, cluster computing, and machine learning systems are used to continuously monitor online sources of product information and expand the Amazon catalog.
• I grew the team from 3 Engineers to a full fledged team of 4 sub-teams with multiple managers, technical program managers, support engineers and software engineers with a total strengths of more than 25. Another significant achievement was to first pickup data science by myself and then build a specialized team for using data science to build predictive analytic and classification systems using big data technologies.

• PayPal is a leading payment gateway. I managed a team of 18 world class developers and leads in India and US and I had delivery as well as people responsibilities. My team was responsible for the core transaction processing engine that is at the heart of PayPal. Worked on many strategic projects like enabling micro-payments, making PayPal accepted in stores, introducing PayPal credit as a payment option, re-architecting the core to enable truly distributed, fault tolerant and scalable system.

• Systems Integration Group, Core Networks Division.
• Integrate Motorola's products with third party vendor products to form end-to-end solutions. Position involves technical evaluation and selection of solution parts, project management, resource management, and vendor managment. Some of the major projects under taken were to design an end-to-end country wide WiMax network for Voice and Broadband, and designing the end-to-end state wide triple play network (voice, video and broadband) over GPON.

• Started as a Senior Member of Technical staff in the Core Networks Division (CND) and progressed to being the Engineering Manager. CND designs and develops network elements in the core of the telecom network (Switches, HLRs, Media Gateways, etc.)
• I developed the call control function, subscriber management function, major interfaces (Cx, Sh) and iFC engine using C. As a manager, I led a team of 25 for IMS CSCF and HSS development. Single handedly formed and trained the team.
