About Me in Brief My background is a blend of innovation, technical expertise and leadership. I've worn many hats - developer, researcher, data scientist, leader and start-up founder. I've built and led high performing Engineering & Data Science teams several times in my career. My Data Science efforts at Zendrive led to the best-in-class accident detection models. I also pioneered on-device machine learning at Zendrive leading to crucial competitive advantage for the company. Over the last 2 years, I have been working / consulting on applications of Generative AI to various domains - education, search, site reliability incident analysis and image generation. I have recently joined Freshworks in the AI/ML team. About Me in Detail - Founder’s Experience at Flyboat: Founded Flyboat.ai in 2023. This gave me great insight into product development. I shaped our ideas around Product Market Fit, Go-To-Market strategy and MVP by accurately understanding student pain points. Based on these insights, Flyboat envisions tailoring school education such that it caters to student specific needs in terms of pace, pedagogical style and reinforcement. -Strategic Leadership at Zendrive: As Head of Data Science & Engineering at Zendrive, I oversaw strategic and tactical decision-making for the entire engineering team (~70 engineers), shaping company strategy across departments. - Achievements at Zendrive -- Led teams that developed an innovative technology (patent granted) for a marketplace, transforming the way auto insurance is offered to safe drivers. -- Led the development and deployment of a patented Deep Learning model for smartphone-based accident detection, currently setting the industry standard. This technology was licensed by General Motors from Zendrive and incorporated in their OnStar Guardian App providing accident-related emergency services to their customers. Zendrive was recently acquired by Credit Karma (part of Intuit). The technology that me and my team built played a big part in this exit. -- Pioneered on-device machine learning techniques, giving Zendrive a crucial competitive advantage since competition did not have this technology. - Proven Track Record in Previous Stints: Worked in various roles – a manager and as an individual contributor in my stints at Motorola, General Motors, Synopsys and Samsung. My contributions both as a technical architect and as a developer resulted into innovative products and created crucial IP for the organizations I worked for. - Publication Record: 7 papers, 3 patents
