• An energy storage academic spin-out from UCLA Engineering, funded by the California Energy Commission (CEC). We developed the technology for the first Hybrid Compressed Air/Thermal Energy Storage pilot plant. I joined as one of the founding team members.
• My responsibilities included modeling steady-state and dynamic process simulations, plant optimizations, feasibility studies, determining specifications, sizing and selecting equipment, creating a cost-effective plant design, failure analysis, developing test plans and manuals, proposing/evaluating/submitting invention documentation for patenting, creating plant drawings, supervising contractors, and grant proposal writing.
