Varun Aggarwal has always been driven by a passion for solving real challenges in the tech space, particularly around hiring and building strong teams. With over 15 years of experience in leadership roles at WhiteHat Jr. and Byju’s, he understands how crucial – and difficult – it is to find the right engineering talent. This drive led him to co-found Kodiva.ai and Liftu.tech, ventures that focus on helping tech leaders overcome some of the toughest challenges in technical hiring. Varun’s approach is informed by his own experiences, bringing firsthand knowledge of the frustrations and gaps in traditional hiring processes. Earlier in his career, Varun co-founded GeekTree, where he explored innovative ways to support businesses with data analytics. His journey, combined with his role as CTO at Bemasterly, provided him with deep insights into scaling teams, building products, and creating long-lasting company cultures. Data science is being increasingly adopted by companies of all sizes across industries, yet the studies indicate that more than 40% organizations are unable to extract meaningful information/trends/analysis on time from their data despite investments and they are still looking for a better approach.
We believe that this gap is due to wrong approach where organizations are trying to teach their domain skills to data scientists which invariably is going to be a longer and inefficient path. The right approach and actual need is to provide right tools to your domain experts to play with organization’s data.
Seed (a Geektree Product) provide a simple Google like interface where business users can ask the questions, they are seeking answers for. Domain experts know what they are looking for (the questions), what should they be monitoring (dashboards and reports) and what actions should they take based on the answers (data/graphs/story). Thus providing a tool to business users where they can ask questions, visualize, drill-down data, seek trends, check outliers and forecast based on various models is far more beneficial and efficient than making a domain expert out of a data scientist.
