• * In this role, I currently head PARAM ( abbreviation to Platform for Analytics, reporting, AI and Ml), typically an amalgamation of Data and ML platforms. The team is responsible to provide SME(subject matter expert) for Data and ML along with handling its day to day operations in Data engineering and MLOps.

• As a Staff my responsibilities were inclined in growing people, setting the right vision and ensuring the start of the art technology was incorporated for the entire organisation.
• Grown the team from 5 to 12(14 at peak). I continued to play multiple roles of an engineer, architect and a people manager while being the sole representative for all executional pieces.
• SHOP101 was acquired and was in process of scaling its operations from 10k orders a day to 100k orders a day. In order to support 10x growth, we migrated the existing legacy system on AWS to GRAP on GCP. The new system was providing extraordinary results as compared to ours previous solution built on AWS.
• The above was a testimony of GRAPs strong foundations and its vision.
• There have been multiple enhancements to GRAP since its version 1.0. DBT, Hudi and clickhouse were added to the GRAP stack to solve for problems like Data discoverability, Data lineage, CDC(change data capture) and real time aggregation warehousing.
• A lot projects on monitoring, compliance and ease of deployment were carried out ensuring right standards were met and practices carried out.
• GRAP is known to be the team within the organisation to be the fastest to respond to any alert and easy to approach for any queries.
• GRAP now has 6 business verticals in Glance Lockscreen, Nostra Gaming, Glance Ads, Roposo, Shop and Glance TV being its consumers. GRAP now handles about 500 people using it day in and day out for their day to day data requirements.

• Built a 5 member team from scratch. Was responsible for hiring, levelling, mentoring and setting up the entire operations around data in the company. The team was not only responsible for building and maintaining the platform but also acted as the data engineering team for the entire organisation.
• Acted in 4 roles during this period - An engineer, an architect, a manager also program managing the entire execution.
• The team was responsible for multiple projects over the period of one year ensuring data is processed and readily available.
• GRAP’s vision was simple, to build a scalable platform with high availability at a low cost and high throughput.
• With better optimisations, GRAP was now able to handle data processing for 100Mn DAU with no linear increase in infra spends.
• Proving its cost effectiveness and robustness, Glance acquired Roposo was also onboarded to GRAP as its data platform as one stop solution for all its data needs.
• GRAP now handles 2 verticals and processes data for over combined 120Mn DAU

• Developed in house data platform, known as GRAP within the organisation.
• GRAP stands for Glance reporting and analytics platform.
• GRAP is completely open source and spends $0 on any license. It’s a completely managed data platform that be deployed on top of any K8s cluster.
• GRAP is built with a frugal mind set keeping the scale of Glance in mind.
• GRAP constitutes Trino, Airflow, Superset, Hive and ELK in its first version.
• GRAP was built on AKS that was able to process data for 30Mn DAU at a very lost cost.
