• 1. Migrated and containerized multithreaded Java applications from AWS to GCP.
• 2. Implemented Kafka(Strimzi Operator) as an alternative of Kinesis for GCP.
• 3. Improved performance of event-driven applications by almost 30% by using Kafka(Strimzi Operator),
• In 1 minute, the application is able to send and consume 3 million messages.
• 4. Implemented Kafka(Strimzi Operator) with 200 partitions and 100 consumers, easily scalable to 200 consumers.
• In the live production environment, Kafka is able to handle a lag of 400 million messages.
• 5. Migrated applications from Java 6 to Java 11(OpenJDK), and optimized memory and performance of applications by implementing various run-time parameters.
• 6. Moved out of the comfortable zone of my domain and took a deep dive for MySQL Percona Operator by solving and understanding deadlock issues, Percona Operator working issues, etc.
• Worked with DBA's to optimize MySQL performance by modifying the cr.yaml file.
• 7. After optimizing the database, it is able to handle 30k queries per second which we can see from PMM(Percona Monitoring and Management).
• 8. Major involvement in code refactoring, helm charts implementation.
• 9. Written bash scripts to handle run time issues for the applications that are deployed in Kubernetes present in GCP.
• 10. Presented and implemented the concept of breaking down monolithic applications into microservices which has increased code readability and we are able to find issues almost 2X times faster than before.
• 11. Fixed memory leak in Java applications that has resulted in better optimization of RAM available in Google Cloud Kubernetes resulting in 99.99% uptime of applications.
• 12. Continuous R&D for cost optimization on Google cloud, able to save a minimum of 2000$.
