I am a Lead Software Engineer with experience building large-scale, performance-critical software systems, with a strong focus on C/C++ development, compiler internals, and system-level architecture. Currently, I work in the QuestaSim Power Aware Simulation team at Siemens EDA, where I contribute to the design and development of a domain-specific compiler used by semiconductor companies worldwide. My work focuses on the core infrastructure and architectural components of the simulator, where I design and implement features that translate RTL design and UPF-based power intent specifications into efficient internal representations to drive correct low-power simulation behaviour. I regularly work on – • Parsing and processing complex design and power intent specifications. • Implementing and evolving core infrastructure in a large C/C++ codebase. • Designing and maintaining multi-threaded components to improve scalability and throughput. • Working with advanced in-memory data structures and algorithms. • Driving architectural changes across multiple components. • Optimizing runtime performance and memory usage through data transformation, code optimizations, parallelism, profiling and low-level analysis. • Debugging deep, real-world customer issues in production environment. Part of my role involves working close to the operating system and low-level behaviour, including multi-threading, synchronization, and assembly-level analysis, to investigate performance and correctness. I am also involved in contributing to industry standards (IEEE-1801 UPF), which requires deep understanding of specifications, edge cases, and backwards compatibility. In addition to hands-on development, I contribute to technical decision-making, mentor engineers, review designs and code, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver stable, high-quality releases. My technical background includes strong proficiency in C, C++, and Python (for tooling & automation), Linux systems, and experience with compiler-like architectures, scripting, and performance optimization. I enjoy solving hard software engineering problems at the core of complex systems and continuously improving both the architecture and quality of the software I work on.
