About

I am a PhD Candidate in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin nearing completion of my thesis on distributed graph algorithms, set to graduate in 2025. I am advised by Dr. Vijaya Ramachandran, a distinguished professor in the Department of Computer Science at UT Austin. My journey began at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, where I completed a dual degree (B.Tech + M.Tech) in Computer Science from 2014-2019. At IIT Madras, I worked under Dr. Jayalal Sarma, focusing on algorithms for group isomorphism problems. My current research primarily centers on graph algorithms and fault tolerance, with a particular emphasis on parallel and distributed models of computation. My focus is on algorithmic foundations for large-scale distributed systems that remain fast and resilient in the face of network failure. I also address fundamental graph problems in distributed computing, specifically within the CONGEST model, where communication bandwidth is limited. My research on fault-tolerant distributed systems and efficient network algorithms is highly relevant to modern large-scale computing systems, including distributed systems, cloud computing, and network infrastructure.

  • Key Research Areas:
  • Distributed Graph Algorithms: Specializing in the CONGEST model of distributed computing
  • Fault-Tolerant Systems: Developing algorithms that maintain functionality when network components fail
  • Shortest Path Problems: Including replacement paths and distance sensitivity oracles
  • Parallel Algorithms: Designing efficient algorithms for shared-memory parallel machines (PRAM)
  • Established near-optimal bounds for fundamental distributed graph problems, providing both upper bound algorithms and lower bound proofs. My contributions address important graph problems that were previously unstudied in the distributed CONGEST model, filling important gaps in the literature.
