Machine Learning Interests: Natural Language Processing (NLP), Multimodal Content understanding and broad Artificial Intelligence in general, especially those related to the interaction between people and computers with a focus on unstructured content creation and understanding The question of "Why do we do this. " or "What are the applications of new technologies that help our lives. " has always been intriguing for me. Research on designing a system to extract text descriptors from triage images of mass disaster victims. The project involves work in the domain of image processing, computer vision, machine learning and probabilistic reasoning. The aim is to extract relevant soft biometrics features from the input image that could use as a key for missing person search even in the absence of the actual image being displayed. This work forms a part of my dissertation and is done in collaboration with the Lost Person Finder project at NLM, NIH.
