I’m Akhil Tripathi, Co-Founder of SciAstra and an alumnus of NISER Bhubaneswar. In 2021, from a small hostel room with zero money and just an idea, my co-founder Vivek Dwivedi and I started SciAstra. What began as a dream to guide students in science has now become India’s largest science and research community - with 4,00,000+ learners, 50,000+ mentored students, and 3,000+ selections into IISERs, NISER, IISc, ISI, CMI, and other premier institutes. Through SciAstra, I’m on a mission to bridge the gap between academia and industry - building pathways where students can move from classrooms and labs to solving real-world problems through research and innovation. Our work lies in collaborating with schools from Tier 3 cities - from the villages of Uttar Pradesh to the valleys of Jammu & Kashmir and the classrooms of Kerala - helping improve fundamental STEM education and bringing early exposure to AI and emerging technologies for students who rarely get such opportunities. Recognised as a Top Voice on LinkedIn, my posts on science education, research culture, and academic reform have reached 20 million+ people, sparking national conversations and being featured in leading newspapers. I’ve been invited to deliver talks in top institutes including IISER Mohali, IISER Bhopal, IISER Kolkata, NISER Bhubaneswar, SRM University, KIIT Bhubaneswar, and many other national & international conferences, colleges, and universities - speaking about starting up, building from zero, and careers in science.
