Todd Morey — Co-Founder
I’m a creative director who has spent my entire career attempting to give technology products just a bit more humanity. Before Netlify, I co-founded The Rackspace Cloud with Jonathan Bryce. I provided design, strategy, and guidance towards the launch of several major Rackspace products, from the first customer portal to the extended portfolio of Rackspace Cloud offerings. A few years later, in cooperation with NASA, we established a global open source project called OpenStack. A small team of us left Rackspace to establish the OpenStack Foundation and help build the project and (most importantly) the community. One of the largest open source projects in the world, OpenStack is used by Blizzard, Walmart, China Mobile, Deutsche Telecom, Tencent and others to control massive pools of compute, storage, and networking resources. I love mentoring students and web-based startups, but I don't do it nearly enough. I believe everyone should endeavor to build the bravery to learn in public and share what you learn with the community. I do a bit of angel investing in opportunities where I have huge love for the team and at least a small understanding of the space.
