About

I am passionate about sustainability and a strong believer in the power of businesses to bring positive change in the world! My first innings of 17+ years was with Energy Services Industry leader, slb(formerly Schlumberger), where I did Commercial Strategy, Sales & Marketing, Operations Management, HR & Quality Management and worked in North America, Europe, Africa, Middle East & Asia. I worked with a global mix of customers, colleagues & government bodies during this time. The awareness of the existential crisis being brought on by climate change led to a change in directions and I worked on Sustainability and Energy Transition for the last part of my stint there. COVID-19 brought with it a pivot towards the development sector, where I partnered with Give to use my past experience to alleviate suffering for those affected by COVID-19 and later use product thinking to help organizations doing good work get discovered faster and with better engagement and results than ever before. Working on my home garden and then our small farm brought about a profound shift in my health and wellness. The realization that when I was connected to nature, it not only improved my health but also that of my farm, and seeing our 2 yr old (at the time) enjoy herself and connect with her food and nature moved us deeply. With a hope to see this transformation happen with more people, Ashima and I started Uncompromised to explore the pathways to make this a reality at scale.

Product Manager - Give | Discover

Oct 2021Nov 2022 · 1 yr 1 mo · Remote

  • My first product development role - designing a non-profit discovery platform. The idea was simple - in the present information age, finding the right development sector organization should be as simple as finding a restaurant to eat at. The execution was anything but simple :) I worked solo for the first 6 months - interviewing stakeholders to define product attributes, doing a market survey to understand the information landscape and SWOTs of products solving for part of the problem and strategizing on the path forward to build this product. Found a partner product to build on top of in SaathiRe and worked to define the attributes and product roadmap. Participated in the beta launch before moving on to farming full-time.

Volunteer - Project Manager

Jul 2021Oct 2021 · 3 mos · Remote

  • Volunteered with Give (Give India at the time), to complete the execution of their One Time Cash Relief Program for families of the deceased in COVID-19 Second Wave. This was one of the most humbling experiences of my life. While COVID-19 impacted us all, its effect on low income families where the bread-winner passed away was unreal. Our project team consisting of employees and volunteers helped identify over 10,000 such families across India by working with grass roots NGOs and Government Agencies. Ensuring the due diligence process worked while faced with the realities of data collection and gathering in rural India during a pandemic was a project like none other.
  • We also created and tested an action plan using available AI/ML tools to dramatically improve the response time for future emergencies as cash relief or similar interventions are relevant immediately after a catastrophe strikes and time is of the essence here.

Operations Manager, Onshore and Deep Water, Wireline

May 2011Aug 2013 · 2 yrs 3 mos

  • Managed all onshore and Deep Water Operations in India. This meant 5 operations bases and 200+ employees. In 2012, I was managing operations spanning the entire geographical spread of the country including High Profile Deep Water operations in the Bay of Bengal for ONGC and Reliance Energy with rig spread rates of the order of $1M/day.
  • By the end of 2012, owing to some contractual gains, the role was further expanded to 8 operational bases spread over the length and breadth of India . This meant an almost overnight increase of 30% in Headcount and setting up of 3 new operations bases in remote areas where we hadn't worked in before. This was an interesting exposure in project management and remote infrastructural challenges with an overnight increase in demand as we replaced our competition at remote onshore and offshore sites with no room for delays or errors.
