Portfolio Product Marketing Manager

Feb 2020Sep 2021 · 1 yr 7 mos

  • I was internally recruited to CCleaner — a subsidiary of Avast that acts with independence from the main organization — to help set the product marketing strategy for 15 products in the CCleaner portfolio for both Consumer and B2B sides of the business. I learned a lot working with some of the smartest, most dedicated, and — most importantly — empathetic people I've ever met in an amazing company culture.
  • As part of that amazing team, we:
  • Consolidated multiple product lines to simplify offerings, strengthen acquisition funnels, and focus internal resources (5 and counting by the time I left, with more to come), and did the fundamental research to revive and relaunch older lines with potential (CCleaner Mac, Recuva).
  • Launched a new Kamo privacy offering, where I acted as interim Product Manager until a dedicated headcount was found.
  • Became the #1 cleaner in the Google Play Store.
  • Proposed an ambitions re-engineering of our business model to transform our consumer freemium products into a C2B acquisition funnel.

Content Manager — Consumer Sales & Marketing

Nov 2016Oct 2018 · 1 yr 11 mos

  • After Avast acquired AVG, I built a team to help drive the sales, acquisition and user experience of 450 million consumers across 3 PLG brands: Avast, AVG and Hidemyass.
  • Built an all-star team:
  • I deserve very little of the credit for many of the accomplishments of my team, other than bringing them together. With the right talent, all you need to do is get out of the way and time your support properly. I’ve loved every second of it.
  • Sales creative campaign management:
  • Sometimes, I’m taken aback when I realize I oversee the in-app and email communications for the desktop products generating over half a billion dollars in sales. It still gives me a thrill knowing I can consistently generate new approaches that hit triple digit improvements on conversions and RPM.
  • Inbound content strategy:
  • It’s no easy task to develop per-product content strategies that feed 3 different inbound marketing platforms — all while changing mindsets to focus on quality vs quantity. But I’m adamant it can be done. Past obvious SEO, I’m a huge fan of the Priceonomics approach to content: tell the stories only you can tell, based on the data available to you. My proudest achievement so far: bringing one of those platforms from 10K to over 100K organic sessions/month in less than a year, with no amplification, paid or social.
  • Customer engagement & retention:
  • I love collaborating with product managers to build out missing engagement and retention experiences for products across the 3 brands. The newsletter program that I started back in AVG has expanded to the other brands and to different languages.
  • Product and new feature ideation:
  • Product development has blown my mind, and I’m regularly tapped to provide ideas for new products or product features. It’s gotten me excited about the world of opportunity that exists in improving the entire consumer lifecycles — from content acquisition to expiration — by simply listening to customers.

Online Marketing Copywriter & Project Manager

  • I help define the end-to-end consumer experiences and marketing flows for 200 Million users. In particular:
  • Creative campaign management:
  • I’m regularly tapped to provide the ideation and execution of million dollar campaigns that launch new products and set the tone for company branding. Display ads, in-app contextual messaging, upsells, cross-sells: I do them all.
  • Email Marketing:
  • I helped lead a transformation of AVG's email marketing campaigns, using dynamic content, personalization, segmentation and location data, and setting up workshops to share best practices to other teams.
  • Customer engagement & retention:
  • I named and project manage the monthly AVG Bits’n’Bytes newsletter, now one of AVG's most powerful content amplification tools, known to have crashed the company blog. I've also been instrumental in redefining and launching the company's new inbound content marketing platform: AVG Signal.
  • Channel sales support
  • I lead the packaging of 6 flagship products across 8 major markets yearly, helping AVG to become the 4th biggest brand in the US and increasing its market share worldwide. While providing support for channel sales teams, I’ve reduced 5-figure project costs to virtually zero by bringing all production in-house.
