• Highlighting and identifying abnormalities, deviations and substandard practices to concerned Site Management recommending corrective remedial measures and follow-up implementation of same.
• Participating in weekly site inspection with the management to check on the aspects of the environment, safety and health and outline any deficiencies for rectification thereon
• Analyzing incident investigation process to ensure its effectiveness, understand the root causes, and ensure corrective actions are completed
• Promoting a HSE culture through training programs and leadership
• Reviewing , analyzing and reporting monthly HSE performance
• Design and conduct suitable training and educational programs for the prevention personal injuries for the benefit of the employees;
• Participating in audits of safety program implementation.
• Preparing the HSE reports for Corporate Offices and Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of HSE metrics.
• Providing safety and loss prevention information, support and mentorship to Workers to ensure the conduct of safe and hygienic work practices.
• Assisting with the development and implementation of safe operating and emergency procedures, manuals, bulletins and other safety publications.
• Monitoring day to day operation of HSE plan and ensures policies and procedures are followed by all staff and non-staff employees.
• Ensuring first aid facilities are available and easily accessible on site
• Ensuring the plant vehicles and equipments are fit for the purpose, adequately maintained and possess valid test certificates
• Assisting the development of safe systems to work and ‘Permit To Work’ procedures
• Attending the weekly HSE meeting with management.
• Ensuring all wastes are segregated and disposed according to the requirements of client with proper
