Dr. Suptendu P. Biswas is a distinguished urban thought-leader with over three decades of experience in architecture, urban design, and planning. An international award-winning architect, urban designer and planning professional, he has made significant contributions across consultancy, research, teaching, and writing—working extensively in areas such as smart cities, heritage and tourism, urban renewal, and landscape urbanism. As a key consultant for the Smart City project in Jaipur, he led the heritage, tourism, and inner-city renewal sectors within a multidisciplinary framework. Dr. Biswas is a partner at VSPB Associates, a Delhi-based architecture and planning firm, and serves as visiting faculty for postgraduate planning programs at the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi. He is also a recipient of the Senior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and a founding trustee of a Kolkata-based charitable trust focused on urban sustainability. He graduated in architecture from BE College (IIEST)- Shibpur and completed both his postgraduate and doctoral studies at SPA-Delhi.
