Benjamin Levick — Operations Associate
Ben is a seasoned general manager and executive who has scaled growth stage enterprises while leading a broad range of functions including operations, go to market, product and supply chain. Ben's career has been at the nexus of gritty physical operations, hardcore data analytics, data science and engineering, and building and designing high performing teams and organizations that can execute against ambitious (and ambiguous) goals. He combines deep skill around strategy, process development, organizational design, execution orientation, and culture building. Ben most recently led Operations and Revenue at Kasa Living, which is building a global accommodations brand based on technical innovation, customer obsession, and broad flexibility. Ben oversaw the P&L of Kasa's operating business and led the majority of the Kasa team which was distributed across 40+ cities and multiple continents. Ben oversaw the Guest Experience (CS), new property launch, property operations, and new ventures operations teams, as well as the company's revenue management, marketing, and corporate sales teams. Previously, Ben was the First business hire at Bowery Farming, a NYC based startup that designs, builds, operates, and sells fresh produce from warehouse-sized vertical farms. He led key functions including operations, R&D, engineering, construction, real estate, supply chain and expansion. Ben helped the company scale physical and commercial options 100x+ in a newly emerging, technically and organizationally complex field and led the design and construction of Bowery's first large scale farm. Ben also continuously pushed the evolution of Bowery's data models, building physical/digital linkages to support Bowery's AI and Machine Learning programs. Finally, he served as the link between Bowery's growth strategy and its operational teams. Before Bowery, Ben was a senior manager in strategy consulting at Bain & Company working across numerous industries and functions but typically with a focus on new technologies. He learned how to learn quickly and efficiently, honed his ability to see the pattern in the randomness, got practice cutting through organizational bureaucracy and driving projects to timely completion, and absorbed Bain's exceptionally supportive and positive culture. Ben is a computer scientist and operations data analyst by education with dual computer science and business degrees from MIT, and received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar in the top 10% of his graduating class.
