• Responsible for building CO2.com, which allowed users to fund curated portfolios of science-backed climate projects. This was a novel approach with transparent impact data, a streamlined UX, and fractionalized carbon credits. I also led the rapid prototyping of consumer mobile app from idea to execution in 4 months, including market and user research, design, and development.

• AppFolio is a leading property management SAAS platform that acquired WegoWise. I was responsible for the software driving its core product offering.
• I successfully designed a new software architecture for a legacy codebase with 6M+ lines of code, built tools that reduced implementation time by an order of magnitude, and developed a new internal API structure to allow teams to reliably and quickly build off each others’ work. These solutions solved multiple long-standing challenges that were seen as intractable problems for the 300-person engineering org, and established the foundation for future product growth with fewer bugs and faster development cycles.

• I started WegoWise with the goal of reducing utility consumption in the built environment, one of the leading sources of carbon emissions affecting global climate change.
• WegoWise was acquired by AppFolio in 2018, and subsequently acquired by Measurabl in 2022. It remains in active use, and the underlying technology also helps to power Measurabl's offerings.
• WegoWise is a web-based data and analytics platform focused on improving building performance and efficiency. The software automatically pulls in data from over a thousand different sources, runs intelligent algorithms, and provides valuable, actionable insights through data visualization, reports, and alerts. The primary market focus is multifamily housing, with customers including property owners and managers, real estate asset managers, energy service provides, financial institutions, government, and trade groups. WegoWise has the largest multifamily building performance database in the US - when it was acquired, this included 11 million utility bills across 55,000 buildings and 1.8 billion square feet (it is larger now).
• I built the initial product and scaled it, grew and led the engineering, product, design, and research teams, and was responsible for technological innovation across the organization.
