• As a member of the executive management team, reporting directly to the CEO, I am responsible for R&D, architecture, software development and operational support of ecobee’s cloud platform. This includes back-end services, mobile applications, web portals, data center infrastructure, data warehousing, and public facing API’s.
• Key business results:
• o Grew the engineering team 10x, with a very high development velocity, utilizing agile practices, continuous integration, Test Driven Development and automation.
• o Built up a UX team and initiated a user centered design approach for all ecobee products.
• o Built up the DevOps team and maintained an annual 99.9+% up-time, absorbing the explosive growth of the ecobee user base. The platform is handling 1000's of transactions per second and several billion rows of data per month.
• o Built up a data analytics team and incorporated customer data as a key product offering and major input into product design decisions.
• o Key inventor in the core 'tribe' that created the ecobee3 thermostat and remote sensors.
• o Lead key initiatives with Apple (HomeKit) and Amazon (Echo & Alexa), and lead the delivery of successful product launches with both companies.

• Responsible for the architecture, development and tier 2 & 3 support of Virgin Mobile’s OSS systems (network provisioning, service management, event billing), online properties, and customer Self-serve channels (Web, WAP, and IVR). • Key business results:
• o Completed a redevelopment of the prepaid OSS systems to leverage an upgraded Alcatel-Lucent network charging and rating system.
• o Implemented a ground up redesign of the Virgin Mobile web site with a focus on creating a highly interactive shopping experience for visitors, combined with enhanced search capabilities. The web site infrastructure and content management systems were also greatly improved as part of the project scope.
• o Launched several key online business initiatives such as the Virgin Mobile SuperTab(TM) price plans, online promotion engine and online MyAccount improvements.

• o Technology consulting for Western Union to facilitate the global roll-out of mobile money transfer to mobile network operators.

• Architect for the enterprise adapter tooling of the “WebSphere Integration Developer” and “Rational Application Developer” products. Also provided architectural guidance to the WebSphere J2EE Adapters for SAP, PeopleSoft and Seibel development teams.
