As the Managing Partner at SamVed, he specializes in investing in tech-driven startups focused on addressing the needs of India’s middle and aspiring classes. Amit partners with founders on strategic decision-making, achieving product-market fit, and navigating the complexities inherent to the startup journey. Prior to SamVed, Amit spent more than two decades at Bridgewater Associates, where he led diverse teams of researchers, quants, technologists, and data experts in the creation of several systematic investment strategies focused on global equities, which have been used in Bridgewater’s Pure Alpha product. He has a deep understanding of macroeconomic linkages and global investor flows and how they impact the fundamentals and supply/demand of global equity sectors. Amit wrote several Bridgewater Daily Observations, which are widely followed by global policymakers and senior investment professionals. In addition to his work on investment strategies, Amit built several foundational parts of the Bridgewater Research Technology stack in his early days. Amit holds a BS in engineering from IIT Kanpur and a MS from the University of Pennsylvania.
