About

Anik Biswas is a seasoned operator, entrepreneur, and product strategist with over 17 years of experience working at the intersection of design, product innovation, and growth. He has partnered with and contributed to multiple high-growth startups—including several that evolved into unicorns—driving outcomes across product-market fit, monetization, and scale. He is currently the Founder of India Wapsi, a niche advisory and concierge platform focused on helping NRIs and overseas Indians navigate their transition back to India. Under his leadership, the company has built a trusted ecosystem across eldercare, healthcare, real estate, and education—delivering deeply personalized, end-to-end solutions that enable clients to reconnect with India seamlessly. Previously, Anik co-founded Dailylearn, an edtech venture incubated by Dailyhunt (Verse Innovation), aimed at democratizing multilingual education for learners across India’s tier 2–5 markets through a hybrid delivery model. Earlier, he co-founded 4SLearning, a pioneering initiative that leveraged solar-powered infrastructure and low-bandwidth connectivity to deliver education in remote regions—earning national recognition and accolades from the Hon’ble President of India. Anik’s career is marked by a strong blend of strategic thinking and execution. Early on, he played a key role in scaling a US-based edtech venture to over $10M in revenue with significant profitability, while also contributing to its successful fundraise and global expansion. He has been an early advocate of AI/ML adoption in knowledge and services industries, conceptualizing and architecting intelligent systems well before mainstream adoption. An alumnus of UCLA Anderson School of Management, Anik is a recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including recognition from the President of India, the Ministry of IT, and leading global innovation platforms such as mBillionth, NTT Data, Intel DST, and Startup India. Beyond his professional pursuits, he is deeply engaged in creative expression—writing, composing, and performing original music—and has contributed to research and innovation through published work and patents in emerging technologies. He actively mentors professionals and founders in product management, product marketing, and growth strategy.

Ultratech cement

Head of Product & Platform

Sep 2023May 2024 · 8 mos · Mumbai, Maharashtra, India · On-site

  • In my role at UltraTech Cement, I led the management of an AI/ML-driven CRM platform, focusing on improving lead generation and conversion strategies. I oversaw a diverse product portfolio, including a B2B sales catalogue maker and MS 365 Dynamics CRM. Collaborating with both external vendors and internal teams, I ensured a successful product deployment within nine months, launching it across the company's sales and marketing offices nationwide.
  • Despite building the product successfully, I discontinued my tenure at UltraTech Cement due to a severe mismatch in expectations out of this role. I hadn't signed up for an entry-level IC role without a career progression roadmap. This role that I performed at UTCL turned out, in reality, to be an entry-level IC role for the 9 months without a future career graph, much to my dismay.

Cofounder & Head of Technology, Product & Marketing - Dailylearn | Incubated by Verse Innovation

Feb 2021Jun 2022 · 1 yr 4 mos · Los Angeles Metropolitan Area

  • At Dailylearn, I played a pivotal role in enhancing educational access in India's tier 2-5 towns. By co-founding this innovative phygital platform, I successfully attracted 1 lac subscribers and 6k paid users, even amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. I managed a diverse team of 20 professionals across technology, marketing, and design, and secured ~$1 million in pre-seed funding from Dailyhunt to support our growth.
  • Dailylearn was India's first startup that promoted hybrid education with access to quality faculty in tier 2-5 towns and villages of India through remote online classes, as we provided the infrastructure to maintain franchises of our education network across these towns and villages by supplying them with projectors, computers, microphones and video cameras. Post installation of these infrastructure, we also ensured constant help with marketing and PR as the franchises attracted the masses into their study centers.
  • While this experiment failed due to covid 19 for a large portion of our tenure, we were able to convert to our plan B, maintaining strong result oriented operations through entirely an online mode of teaching on the web. Towards the end of Covid 19, in 2022, we did start a few franchises in Bihar and UP as well.
  • I was responsible for product management, tech and marketing.
  • In 2022, Dailyhunt decided to discontinue funding as it did not want to venture further into edtech due to the mammoth collapse of Byju's and the closure of several promising edtech startups in India amidst a funding winter that wrecked havoc worldwide in the startup ecosystem.

Freelance Consultant

  • I provide fractional product management, UI/UX & marketing services to startups that can't afford to go to MBB/Big 4. Since 2010, I have offered innovative services and solutions to a few startups based out of Delhi & Mumbai because I have been self-employed & had time for extra work. Working with startups is like an experiment - you try to achieve favourable outcomes but not every circumstance is aligned in your favour. So there are 99%+ chances that your startup work will eventually fail, but those that enjoy the thrill and excitement of setting up ops from zero find it exciting to work with startups. Startups are risky; you should never expect stability or constant income from these companies. And, do not expect long term association with these cos either. It is a short term gamble. I've worked and failed with many startups, but I didn't have other options - so I can't complain.
  • As of 2026, I am looking to pick up development, design and marketing projects. We maintain a selective pool of contractual employers who are hand-picked through rigorous interviews, and provide the very best of development capabilities in MERN/LAMP/AI & ML/Cloud & DevOps. Our CTO has 25+ years of experience managing technology companies and we are HQ-ed in London with our MD heading our international business development efforts.
  • I have worked with a few unicorn startups like ShopClues, RateGain, Nature's Bounty Inc. and a few well established companies like EPW, Conde Nast, Grass Roots Group, etc. in the last 15+ years of my career.
  • For international clients, my rate is a flat 50 USD/hr for product strategy advisory, marketing & design work. This is the lowest it can get. I keep it minimal so that we can attract early stage startups as well.
  • For Indian clients, I charge between Rs. 3000 to Rs. 5000 per hour depending on the nature of the assignment.
  • We undertake product strategy workshops for enterprises and startups and conduct executive coaching, visit: www.anikbiswas.co.in

  • I cracked an extremely competitive placement with Nucleus Software, one of India's oldest and largest fintech product companies by getting selected as one amongst 10 from a pool of over 1000 students in an off-campus placement drive.
  • During my tenure as a Software Engineer Trainee at Nucleus Software, I was involved in CMMi Level 3 QA activities and led project management efforts as the PMO Lead. My work in PMO encompassed creation of project documentation and processes related to the entire project lifecycle controlling, monitoring and maintaining project status for all the projects of General Motors Acceptance Corporation across the globe. I was responsible for the smooth functioning of projects and guided the project managers to follow audit guidelines laid down by the QA team in Nucleus Software. I aligned the project managers with the quality standards set by the QA teams and conducted several process checks and internal audits during my tenure, increasing the average project alignment and standardization with CMMi 3 level processes to around 70-90% for each project achieving high standards of assurance and quality.

  • My creation of a unique PM scorecard significantly improved project operations, earning me recognition from the COO and BU Head for my innovative contributions.
  • I was also responsible for the solution architecture of several fintech modules including system design, database design and baselining of code, standardizing operational tasks to align with each project's unique needs and requirements - signaling my efficiency as a project management expert, and creating opportunities for the project manager to focus on client delivery as I ensured a consistent backend progress in terms of operational efficiency.
  • I also successfully completed an organizational wide training program in PL-SQL and JAVA for fresh engineering graduates.
