About

Hi! I’m Prathiksha Venkateswaran (she/her), a trauma-informed, queer-affirmative, and caste-aware therapist learning, unlearning, and growing my practice through a Person-centered and Gestalt lens. I have a Master’s in Clinical Psychology and certifications in Trauma-Informed Care, Queer-Affirmative Practice, and Art-Based Therapy. But more importantly, I’m someone who genuinely enjoys sitting with people as they make sense of their stories. As a queer and neurodivergent woman who grew up navigating mixed cultures, I’ve had my fair share of “figure-it-out-as-I-go” moments. Those experiences shaped the way I show up in the therapy room: with honesty, humour when it helps, and a deep awareness of how identity and systemic realities influence our wellbeing. In sessions, I focus a lot on the here and now, noticing what’s coming up in your body, your emotions, or even your tone. Sometimes that looks like gentle curiosity, sometimes grounding, sometimes just taking a breath together because life is… a lot. And truthfully, I’m growing right alongside my clients. Every conversation nudges me toward new understandings, and I like to follow that curiosity with as much grace as I can manage on any given day. If you’re looking for a therapist who’s real, thoughtful, and committed to creating a space where you can simply be yourself, I’d be honoured to take that journey with you.
