Hapi finance / bifrost (yc w22)

CTO, Co-founder

Oct 2021Sep 2023 · 1 yr 11 mos

  • Y Combinator W22
  • Raised $3.2M. Started with a digital will for the ethereum blockchain to protect assets upon end-of-life. We weren't able to get solid traction. We pivoted around a lot and ended up building in AI developer tooling/design.
  • Our product Bifrost was the very first Figma-to-code tool powered by LLMs, gaining over 1M impressions on launch.
  • Learned a lot of lessons:
  • Focus is crucial to being successful. You win by taking advantage of compound interest on your learnings from being in the same space over many iterations.
  • Become an expert in a space and build there. Don't follow the changing markets - establish a direction and have the grit to execute on it.
  • Have a strong opinion about what you want the world to look like in 5 years and build iteratively toward it. Learn from customers to align yourself on that vision.
  • Charge people for your products early, learn from the people who pay so you're aligned with the right users.
  • Sales is an uphill battle until you have solid PMF. Do whatever is in your power to ensure people have a good experience, productize, and build toward pmf.
