Program Manager and Policy Advisor, Orbital Hospital

Feb 2026Present · 2 mos

  • The future of space exploration is no longer reserved exclusively for the elite few. At OSMED, we are officially launching a mission to engineer the comprehensive concept design for a permanent medical facility in orbit. This project represents a fundamental shift in how we approach life beyond Earth, moving toward a future where human health is supported by robust, accessible infrastructure.
  • An orbital hospital serves as a critical requirement for the future of space travel by acting as a centralized medical node for complex trajectories between Earth, the Moon, and Mars. By providing high level care in orbit, we can transition space from a healthy only environment for select astronauts into an inclusive economic sector. This approach effectively mitigates medical risks for a much broader demographic of travelers and ensures that the cosmos is open to everyone.
  • This facility also addresses a vital scientific necessity by closing the data gaps on the impacts of partial gravity. Through long term clinical observation, our members will lead the research and architectural development needed to understand human physiology in new environments. As a multidisciplinary collective, we are currently coauthoring the blueprint for the Orbital Hospital to define its core purpose, operational capabilities, and physical structure.
