About

With over three decades in law and policy, I’ve worked at the intersection of corporate governance, regulatory frameworks, and international commercial transactions. As the Founder and Managing Partner of TSG Legal Consulting Pvt. Ltd., I lead a practice advising businesses across infrastructure, telecom, media, hospitality, insurance, pharma, and financial services. My academic path began at the University of Delhi and continued at Stanford Law School, where I earned my J.S.M. and J.S.D. degrees under the mentorship of legal and economic giants, including Nobel Laureate Kenneth Arrow and Professor Paul Goldstein. Their guidance helped shape my approach to law — one grounded in rigour, empathy, and real-world relevance. I’ve led legal strategy and negotiations for complex, cross-border transactions including privatizations, project finance, and IP strategy for clients such as Swiss Re, ONGC, Reliance Industries, Sun Life of Canada, Sony Pictures, Brown-Forman, and PanAmSat. I’ve also served as an Independent Board Director for companies like HFCL, SREI Infra, Sony Pictures India, Aria Hotels (JW Marriott), Home Credit, and others, contributing across committees on audit, ethics, risk, and CSR committees. India’s Deep Tech landscape is now a growing area of personal focus. If India is to be globally competitive in sectors like AI, semiconductors, and internet infrastructure, our legal, policy, and financial systems must evolve. I’m especially interested in tackling structural bottlenecks around IP sovereignty, startup exits, and innovation policy, and in bridging the gap between engineers, investors, and regulators. Alongside corporate practice, I’ve contributed to public policy and legislative development, including work on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act — a reminder of law’s ability to serve as a tool for both protection and progress. Beyond the boardroom, I believe in applying knowledge where it’s most needed. As Platinum President of Rotary District 3010 in 2006, I helped set up digital learning centres in Delhi for children from daily-wage families, focusing on practical literacy and workplace readiness. I also volunteer with organizations that care for and spay street animals. At the same time, art, in all its forms, is a personal refuge, a quiet space for reflection amidst the intensity of legal and policy work. If you’re building or investing in the future of tech, governance, or global business, I’d be happy to connect.

  • I founded TSG Legal Consulting to bring sharp, cross-disciplinary legal expertise to businesses navigating complex regulatory and commercial landscapes—both in India and internationally.
  • Over the past three decades, I’ve led the firm’s growth into a legal and public policy advisory practice specializing in international legal transactions, strategic corporate law, and intellectual property. Our work spans sectors such as infrastructure, telecom, media, insurance, pharmaceuticals, financial services, hospitality, and real estate.
  • We advise clients on cross-border collaborations, technology transfers, joint ventures, privatizations, project finance, and IP strategy. Our team supports companies with commercial contracts, litigation, and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions. I’ve had the privilege of representing organizations such as Swiss Re, Sony Pictures, ONGC, Reliance Industries, Sun Life of Canada, Brown-Forman, and PanAmSat.
  • Beyond client representation, I’ve led the firm’s involvement in public policy and legislative development—including contributions to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
  • All of these experiences continue to inform our belief that the law must serve both innovation and inclusion.
