• Led the full project lifecycle of a GIZ-funded programme initiative to improve safety in Pakistan’s garment and textile sector - from drafting the successful funding proposal and negotiating the grant agreement to overseeing implementation and delivering the final report. Responsible for the administrative and financial management of the programme. The project aimed to enhance workplace safety for over 600,000 workers across nearly 600 factories and fabric mills, contributing to systemic improvements in labour conditions at scale.

• In this interim role, I helped manage Mondiaal FNV's activities in the Indian garment sector. Mondiaal FNV supports projects in over 100 countries located in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe through resources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, of FNV and its affiliates.

• In this interim role, I managed the 2023 Cotton Ranking project. The ranking revealed that only 9 of the 82 largest cotton-sourcing companies bought nearly all of their cotton from certified sources. I also co-authored a paper that underscored the imperative for brands to source cotton sustainably, ensuring farmers’ well-being and environmental protection.
• I coordinated the writing and sign-off process with project partners, supported the drafting process with research and writing, and liaised with communication teams to develop a plan for the release of the report and company ranking.
• Solidaridad brings together supply chain actors and engages them in innovative solutions to improve production, ensuring the transition to a sustainable and inclusive economy that maximises the benefit for all.

• On behalf of Palladium, I provided expertise on decent work and living wages to the Challenge Fund for Youth Employment (CFYE).
• The Challenge Fund for Youth Employment (CFYE) is a programme funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented by Palladium, VSO and Randstad. The Fund aims to create 200,000 decent jobs for young people in West, East and North Africa, and the Middle East. This will be achieved by supporting private sector employment initiatives in about 20 different countries.

This fund helped businesses that (1) wanted to carry out research into the root causes of child labour and sought to take measures to prevent it in their international supply chains, and (2) were taking action to prevent child labour in their own organisation.

• For the Import Promotion Desk (IPD), I helped companies develop and implement CSR strategies. I trained and coached over 40 companies in Indonesia, Nepal and Egypt. These companies produce medicinal and aromatic plants, essential oils, natural ingredients, and fresh fruits and vegetables.
• IPD was set up by the Federation of German Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services (BGA) and sequa gGmbH, the development organisation and partner of the German private sector. IPD is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

• I conducted sustainability risk analysis for financial analysts and investors, with a focus on deforestation driven by the Brazilian soy and livestock sectors. This research was used in the reports of the Chain Reaction Research (CRR) consortium. CRR reports are a driver for change: investors have used their financial leverage to stimulate companies to adopt no deforestation policies. The reports have also highlighted the financial risks related to non-compliance with sustainability standards.
• Aidenvironment is a values-driven consultancy providing services and research in sustainable production and trade. It creates social, environmental and economic value seeking a fair distribution across stakeholders.

• Rupa Ganguli and I did research on the market opportunities for shapewear and beachwear from Colombia, as part of CBI’s portfolio of intelligence studies on export opportunities.

• At SOMO I coordinated research and advisory services provided to governments and not-for-profit organisations. Clients I worked with included the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the Dutch Federation of Trade Unions (FNV), Oxfam Novib, Fairtrade International (FLO), HIVOS, several ministries and agencies of the Dutch government, Consumers International, the European Metalworkers' Federation (EMF), the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO), the Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC), SETEM, Return to Sender and the Global Unions Committee on Workers’ Capital (CWC).
• As a researcher, I coordinated research activities and gave advice on responsible business practices in a broad range of sectors. I was also involved in setting up and managing several civil society networks that foster corporate accountability, such as Red Puentes, OECD Watch and the European Coalition on Corporate Justice (ECCJ).
• I undertook research on sustainability issues and solutions in the following sectors: textiles, garments and secondhand clothing, IT hardware, coffee, finance and tourism. I also coordinated NGO networks and developed policy recommendations in the areas of sustainable public procurement, supply chain responsibility, socially responsible investing and corporate accountability.

• In 2002, as a researcher at Cordaid’s Brazilian partner organization Ceris, I coordinated a large research project on the views on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Dutch multinationals with operations in Brazil. Also in 2002, I helped found Red Puentes, a network of Latin American and European civil society organisations that seek to promote responsible business practices in Latin America.
