  • Sometimes, when you're fresh out of university and looking for a marketing job in a competitive industry, you need to live with your parents and work from one of the only businesses hiring in your hometown: an overflow inbound call centre.
  • This was that time.
  • But I learned how to react very quickly to unexpected situations (you have approximately 2 seconds to figure out which company the person is calling for and what the process is), how to stay calm in an emergency (I had to answer calls from people trapped in elevators), and how to keep my cool with some truly unspeakably rude people (the callers, not the rest of the team.)
  • So it was 3 months well spent.
