• Supporting a major SAP programme delivery across a complex SAP landscape, migrating to SAP HEC (HANA Enterprise Cloud).
• I was the Lead SAP Solution Architect responsible for SAP Solution Design, Architecture, Migration Planning and Delivery.
• This complex programme included the upgrade and migration of the entire EE SAP Landscape comprising ECC6, BW, Enterprise Portal, SRM, Solution Manager and SAP PI / PO.
• Migration from Oracle 12 to HANA 2.0 databases for the core systems and equivalent SAP ASE databases for Portal and BW Java stacks, as well as SLES 11 to 12 upgrades for the entire landscape. ABAP/Java split for BW and software version upgrades for SAP BW and Portal (7.0 to 7.5), and complete rebuild of PI 7.3 on a new PO 7.5 platform.
• Multiple supporting sub-projects including adoption of the new BW authorization concept, system size reduction (various initiatives), Pre-Calc, BEx and AFO upgrades, SAP IQ and NLS implementation, SAPGui 7.6 deployments, hostname changes and many other technical elements including maintaining existing and delivering new integration points.
• I was responsible for the overall Technical Architecture Design, working closely with SAP, SAP HEC’s partners, BT partners and many third-party vendors, I was accountable for the successful migration of EE’s most critical systems.
• I was fundamental in ensuring the correct sizing and build of the target HANA landscape, this proved to be one of the most critical elements of the entire programme.
• The programme successfully delivered, going live on HEC in Q3 2020, realising substantial benefits. I also supported post go-live ‘hyper care’ and subsequent planning activities relating to the future EE/BT SAP strategy.
• To conclude the programme I performed deep-dive analysis to prove the business and technical benefits (before vs after Oracle to HANA).
• Working with a fantastic team from multiple vendors, this was a thoroughly enjoyable, challenging and rewarding programme. A career highlight.

• Responsible for a wide range of SAP activities supporting T-Systems drive to be one of the UK’s leading providers of SAP and Cloud services, with a focus on ‘SAP on AnyCloud’ : Private and Public Cloud, inc SAP on AWS & MS Azure.

• TUPE’d to IBM from EE; over this 7 month period I worked as a key member of the IBM transition team to successfully manage the smooth transition of EE SAP services to IBM.
• Continuing SAP Release & Delivery Management on the EE account and providing delivery management for all of EE’s SAP impacting projects. I also owned, managed and co-ordinated the complex SAP roadmap and was accountable for the management of EE’s SAP system releases.
• I utilised my existing business network and adapted to build new business relationships on behalf of IBM as EE’s new outsourced SAP service provider. I was also the main source of knowledge transfer into IBM for all of EE’s SAP delivery processes, SAP architecture and infrastructure.

• Initially as SAP Delivery Manager and subsequently promoted to Senior Release Delivery Manager in Jan 2012, responsible for the delivery of all of EE’s SAP solutions including the ownership of system releases and delivery based on committed project and business demand.
• Operating in a rapidly changing business environment I was a key management figure in the SAP/ERP Solutions & Delivery Team, with SAP spearheading EE’s consolidation of systems over the Orange & T-Mobile brands.
• As the main point of contact for the business for any SAP/ERP related project requirements I was responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of these requirements. I managed key stakeholders expectations, and acted as the front door for demand, estimation coordination and prioritisation.

• Responsible for driving the delivery of SAP solutions, projects, services and the integration of technology across T-Mobile UK’s SAP landscape. Client facing, liaising with and influencing the business at all levels, providing advice and guidance as a technical SAP expert.
• During this period I played a key role in the successful datacentre migration from a Capgemini Datacentre in London to a T-System Dynamic Services Datacentre in Germany. This included all T-Mobile UK SAP Landscapes – ECC6.0, BI, SRM, SCM, PI/XI & Portal , comprising 30+ SAP instances and multiple non-SAP systems. I was also pivotal in the ‘SAPS’ sizing of the target hardware.
• I also played a key role in the further transition of SAP services to T-Systems and was the interface between T-Mobile and T-Systems for all SAP Basis related functions.

I also played a key role in the planning and preparation of the SAP Data Centre migration from the UK to Germany.
