  • I was the Lead SAP Solution Architect responsible for SAP Solution Design, Architecture, Migration Planning and Delivery.
  • This complex programme included the upgrade and migration of the entire EE SAP Landscape comprising ECC6, BW, Enterprise Portal, SRM, Solution Manager and SAP PI / PO.
  • Migration from Oracle 12 to HANA 2.0 databases for the core systems and equivalent SAP ASE databases for Portal and BW Java stacks, as well as SLES 11 to 12 upgrades for the entire landscape. ABAP/Java split for BW and software version upgrades for SAP BW and Portal (7.0 to 7.5), and complete rebuild of PI 7.3 on a new PO 7.5 platform.
  • Multiple supporting sub-projects including adoption of the new BW authorization concept, system size reduction (various initiatives), Pre-Calc, BEx and AFO upgrades, SAP IQ and NLS implementation, SAPGui 7.6 deployments, hostname changes and many other technical elements including maintaining existing and delivering new integration points.
  • I was responsible for the overall Technical Architecture Design, working closely with SAP, SAP HEC’s partners, BT partners and many third-party vendors, I was accountable for the successful migration of EE’s most critical systems.
  • I was fundamental in ensuring the correct sizing and build of the target HANA landscape, this proved to be one of the most critical elements of the entire programme.
  • The programme successfully delivered, going live on HEC in Q3 2020, realising substantial benefits. I also supported post go-live ‘hyper care’ and subsequent planning activities relating to the future EE/BT SAP strategy.
  • To conclude the programme I performed deep-dive analysis to prove the business and technical benefits (before vs after Oracle to HANA).
