Hello, I’m Harshita Kalani Software Engineer at Warner Bros. Discovery, open-source enthusiast, and one who enjoys building things while listening to music. I contribute to LFortran, did Google Summer of Code 2024 with Fortran-lang, mentored GSoC 2025, and flew to Germany for the GSoC Mentor Summit. Open source has been a huge part of my journey. I’m a Gold Medalist from IIT Jodhpur (B.Tech, Computer Science & Engineering). Contributing to the development of LFortran, a modern interactive LLVM-based Fortran compiler. Enhanced compatibility of LFortran with SciPy codebase. Integrating LFortran into SciPy’s build system, setting up continuous integration (CI) to ensure the proper functionality of the ASR. Initiated incorporating LFortran into SciPy’s build system and executing tests. Successfully incorporated the SciPy’s Minpack and Fitpack packages. Currently incorporating the Amos package and ensuring successful execution of developers’ tests.
Spearheaded the implementation of essential intrinsic functions, including min and sign and led initiatives to enhance error and warning handling procedures, resulting in a more robust system with improved fault tolerance and reliability.

Software Development Engineer Intern

Demonstrated a compelling Proof of Concept of Kotlin Multiplatform by successfully onboarding the Playback Info Resolver (PIR) component of Player SDK into Kotlin Multiplatform and implementing the shared library for both Android and Apple Platforms. PIR implements the business logic to initiate the playback session for a requested asset by an user on a specific device.
The shared library contains the Kotlin source code that transpiles into Swift, JavaScript and C++, demonstrating the practicality of cross-platform development. Developed, integrated and tested the PIR in both Android and Apple platforms.
