Grew team from ~30 to ~250. Member of Stripe's ~15 person senior leadership team.

• Led Uber’s Platform Engineering’s people and strategy, growing a small team into a seventy person organization. Our infrastructure ran Uber, and our tools supported Uber’s 2,000+ engineers.
• The team’s stability wins transformed Friday nights from terrors to happy hours (resource isolation, capacity planning, alert tuning). Our self-service tooling and automation facilitated the transition from dozens of microservices to over 1,000 (from Puppet/Clusto to Docker/Mesos/Aurora). We migrated from our original datacenter to an international presence.

• Founded SocialCode’s San Francisco office, and grew the SF engineering team to 14 engineers. We built new products from scratch (AdOptics dashboard for campaign performance; AdVisor tool for Twitter), and took over development of existing products (MessageOptics social media analytics tool).
• Designed and implemented much of our infrastructure layer, including our data infrastructure (Kafka, Redshift), continuous deployment (Github, Jenkins, APT), configuration management (Chef), transition to service-oriented architecture (Django, HATEOAS), and cross-product user auth(n|z).

• Hired and led team of seven infrastructure and UI/UX engineers who were responsible for the entirety of Digg.com, APIs and mobile applications. Contributed code to most features, and was the primary developer on a handful. Worked mostly in Python, PHP and JavaScript.
• Represented our engineering team and technology assets to potential acquirers, leading to acquisition by the Washington Post Company (now Graham Holding)'s SocialCode.
