Julie Chapko — Operations Associate
I work at the intersection of accessibility, operations, and culture helping organizations turn inclusive intentions into real, lived experiences. With over a decade of experience across human rights, cultural institutions, and large-scale transportation environments, I specialize in creating accessible public spaces, services, and workplace cultures, including neurodiversity and inclusive design. My accessibility journey began at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, where I learned firsthand the power of feedback, empathy, and community voice. Today, as an Accessibility Specialist at Winnipeg Airports Authority, I lead initiatives that improve the passenger experience and embed accessibility into everything from terminal design and wayfinding to staff training and service delivery. I’ve intentionally worked at ground level to deeply understand operations, while also bringing a strategic and systems-level lens to my work. I’ve chaired cross-functional committees, designed enterprise-wide learning programs, partnered with national organizations, and supported culture change initiatives that improve both employee and public experience. A natural storyteller and skilled communicator, I’m able to make sense of complex data and high-level concepts translating them into clear, human-centered insights that drive action. With public speaking experience and introductory ASL training, I’m passionate about moving accessibility from theory into practical, sustainable outcomes. I stay current on emerging inclusive technologies, human-centered design, and best practices to ensure accessibility is built in to all functions. I’m open to leadership roles, consulting, and speaking opportunities where I can help organizations build inclusive, resilient, and human-centered environments. Let’s connect.
