  • Founded and led SFS, a biotech startup applying computer vision to plant biology.
  • We built deep learning models to analyze plant phenotypes from images — automating what breeders and researchers used to do by eye. Our systems could detect stress responses, measure growth patterns, and quantify traits across thousands of plants at scale.
  • This work taught me two things: (1) AI can transform how we understand plants, and (2) the real leverage isn't in what you can see — it's in what you can read. The code that drives every trait, every stress response, every adaptation is written in DNA.
  • That insight became Living Models.
  • The company was founded by Cyril Véran, a specialist in biotechnology, and Dr. Thomas Janssoone, an expert in machine learning and a former researcher at INRIA.
