Mr. Herman has more than 50 years of professional experience managing the architecture, design and development of innovative software solutions at Web 7.0 Foundation, Trusted Digitial Web/Hyperonomy Digital Identity Lab, Optical Recording Corporation (ORC), Alias/Wavefront, IBM, Star Data Systems, Microsoft Corporation. At Microsoft, Mr. Herman was the lead enterprise consultant for several infrastructure engagements at CIBC, Ontario Hydro, Toronto District School Board and Inco as well as a Microsoft developer platform evanglist. In addition, MIchael worked as a member of the Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server product groups where he was responsible for the strategy and execution of the developer technical readiness programs for the Microsoft internal field as well as external partner personnel. He is the author of several developer whitepapers on Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server. At ORC, Alias/Wavefront and Star Data Systems, Mr. Herman served as the Microsoft Windows Product Development Manager responsible for creating the initial and subsequent versions of the ORC Document Management System, Alias Upfront for Windows and Starquote NG. In his 1991 Windows World keynote speech, Bill Gates, Chairman and CEO of Microsoft Corporation, singled out Alias Upfront for Windows as the most innovative new graphics product for Microsoft Windows. Michael is a named contributor to the W3C Decentralized Identifier (DID) specification as well as a contributor to several projects at DIF and ToIP. Mr. Herman has both Bachelor of Mathematics and Masters of Mathematics degrees in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo. Mr. Herman was the founding lab manager for the University of Waterloo Computer Graphics Laboratory.
