About

Do you know the ham story? An owner of an SMB told me this story recently. Here it is... --- Every Thanksgiving I notice my wife cuts big chunks at the ends off her ham. I love ham so it seemed like a waste. I finally thought to ask about it this year. My wife says, "Oh it's how my mom taught me to do it. Everyone in our family does it." I'm a curious person so I walked over to her mom and said, "Why do you cut the ends off your ham?" Her mom replies with, "We'll that's how grandma did it, and her food was great." Right away her sister starts laughing. Her sister yells from across the room... "You know, I went down this rabbit hole once before." She laughs some more. "I asked grandma why, you know what she said?" "What's that?" I replied. "Grandma said she cut the ends off to fit the ham in her oven. That is it. Not some special way to make the ham. Since then the whole family just kept doing it." Her dad chimes in with, "Some wheels just keep spinning even when we don't even think to question why." -- Thanks to AI, these are the times we live in more than ever. A few quotes that I think encapsulate this most: “This is how humans are: We question all our beliefs, except for the ones that we really believe in, and those we never think to question.” ― Orson Scott Card, Speaker for the Dead “It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so. “ – Mark Twain But the thing is... we all *know* that we need to use AI we just don't always know how. I want to help you figure that part out.
