Rohit Jain is an Independent Social Documentary Photographer based in India. He doesn't have a base place, he keeps travelling for work and volunteering. He is a grantee of the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. His work focuses on human and life development documentary photography. He goes further and commits himself to doing some deep photo stories about life, its ups and downs and social issues. He hopes to bring humanity closer and develop empathy through the photos and the stories. He has covered tribal issues and culture, displacement, forced migration, women's health, public health, education, early marriage and livelihood. He has worked independently with the World Bank, Vitamin Angels, The Tenure Facility - Sweden, Malaria No More, UNICEF India, Norway Consulate - Mumbai, Girl Up India, Haq - Center for Child Rights, Mahila Jan Adhikar Samiti and more. Various media outlets - The Hindu, Vice News, Outlook India, People Archive for Rural India, National Hearal, Scroll.in and more, have published his works. He visits Mass Communication colleges as an enrichment instructor to share his experience of Documentary Photography with students.
