• The 3 year period of articleship in one of the best CA firms of my time gave me the base for becoming a good CA. I learnt a lot during my articleship. In those days, a CA firm gave all round experience to the articled students unlike today when most firms have water tight compartments. I did tax work and audits. In those days, there were no computers - only typewriters. So, we had to do most of the work manually. That made us more careful. I owe my professional standing to the strong grounding that I got during my articleship.
