About

I design accessibility for real-world use, not audits. With 16 years in technology and 13 years focused on accessibility (CPWA), I work on systems that must remain usable when real people, real environments, and real constraints collide. Much of accessibility work stops at compliance. My focus is on what actually breaks—mobile apps under pressure, self-checkout kiosks in noisy stores, immersive 3D experiences, and hybrid physical-digital systems. Inclusion only matters if it holds up outside controlled conditions. My perspective is shaped by lived experience. I’ve worked in this field as a sighted user, then as a low-vision developer, and now as a blind screen reader user. That progression makes it easier to spot where “technically correct” implementations quietly fail the user. I work closely with engineering and design teams, translating WCAG 2.2, WAI-ARIA, and native iOS and Android guidance into requirements teams can actually build. My work includes making complex 3D experiences accessible to assistive technology users, with attention to interaction, orientation, and feedback—not just labels. When systems fall short, I build. After repeated Windows audio failures created unnecessary dependence on sighted help, I developed Audio Toggles, an NVDA add-on now available in the official store. The intent is straightforward: restore control, confirm state, and reduce dependency. Beyond digital products, I’ve led audits of physical spaces and in-store environments, and assessed tools and roles to determine which can be effectively performed by people with different types of disabilities. This work helps organizations move from assumptions about inclusion to practical, evidence-based decisions. I’m interested in work where accessibility is treated as a core architectural concern, not a finishing step.

  • As the Senior Accessibility Lead at Target, I shape accessibility strategy across digital and physical experiences, focusing on systems that must work in real operating conditions—not just in audits. I work closely with engineering, design, and business teams to translate accessibility standards into practical, buildable decisions at scale. Since 2018, I’ve initiated and led GAAD initiatives at Target India to drive sustained, hands-on accessibility awareness. From its conceptual phase in 2019, I’ve contributed to the Udaan project, supporting meaningful participation and long-term inclusion for people with disabilities. My focus throughout is embedding accessibility as part of the operating model, not a finishing step.
