  • Work with businesses and financial institutions on the inclusion of biodiversity in nature strategies, with alignment to best practice like the IFC PS6 and the Nature Positive Initiative guidance
  • Evaluate sustainability frameworks, standards, and regulations to leverage platform datasets for sustainability reporting (including CSRD, TNFD, GRI, SFDR).
  • Serve as a liaison between biodiversity and business, facilitating their interaction and providing relevant trainings and work on strategic business development.
  • Provide sector-specific insights to help companies recognize and address biodiversity risks.
  • provide capacity building to both internal and external stakeholders on the importance of nature, navigating biodiversity related reporting space, and various biodiversity data, platforms and tools.
  • marketing and communication support to convey the message of nature, and the importance of credible and high integrity biodiversity datasets to the private and public sector
  • represent IBAT at international conferences and speaking events such as the UN Biodiversity COP16 and Nature action dialogues 2024 (participated in a panel at both conferences) - including curating session agendas and handle event logistics.
  • IBAT serves as the integral focal point between biodiversity datasets (WDPA, WDKBA, IUCN Red List) and the private sectors, allowing for companies to screen for biodiversity risks associated with their operations. From financial institutions, to carbon project developers and renewable energy sector, anyone with operations on the ground would have some extent of exposure to nature related impacts, dependencies, risks and opportunities. It is thus important for companies to understand these risks early, and take appreciate prevention and/or mitigation plans to conserve the the natural ecosystem.
