Jaime Lien — Co-Founder
As Co-Founder and Chief Scientist at Archetype AI, I lead research and development of technologies that help machines understand the physical world. With over 13 years in perceptual sensing, I’ve led teams from early invention to productization, transforming new scientific insights into practical, scalable technologies. Before Archetype, I was a lead inventor of Soli radar at Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP), guiding its development from concept to deployment across multiple consumer products. Earlier, at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, I developed next-generation wireless communication and localization systems for space missions. I hold a B.S. and M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from MIT and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, where my research focused on radar imaging and interferometry. My work sits at the intersection of sensing, AI, and science, exploring how machines can deepen our understanding of the world and what it means to truly perceive it.
