Will Luton — Co-Founder
My career in games spans over two decade and I’ve been fortunate to work with brands such as Rick & Morty, Runescape and Marvel. I led product on Angry Birds 2, taking it to top 50 grossing, as well as founding Rovio London as Executive Producer. In 2021 I cofounded Village Studio raising $2.3m in venture funding, leading the vision for the company and its products. Prior to that I founded Department of Play, a product management agency that is trusted by the likes of PlayStation, Tencent and Meta. My book Free-to-Play: Making Money from Games You Give Away is published by Pearson and available in English, Chinese and Korean. It has been heralded as a “must read” and has become a bookshelf standard in studios worldwide. My writing has also featured on GamesIndustry.biz, The Guardian and PocketGamer.biz. I have been a nominee and juror for several BAFTA awards. I have a BA (Hons) Computer Games Design, am a distance runner and play a lot of pinball and Magic: The Gathering.
