About

Billy Sorrentino is Vice President, Product Design at Meta, where he'll help establish a new creative studio in Reality Labs — bringing together design, fashion, and technology to define the next generation of Meta's products and experiences. Previously, Sorrentino was a design leader on the Apple Design Team, which is responsible for the user experiences, core interactions, design and craft across the entire Apple ecosystem. He lead the Camera, Photography, Visual Design, Motion Design, VFX, Sound and Haptics Design teams. He and his teams were responsible for the design of VisionOS, OS26's ecosystem-wide Liquid Glass redesign, iPhone camera, computational photography, and Visual Intelligence experiences. Prior to Apple, he was Emmy-Nominated in the “Outstanding Graphic Design and Art Direction” category for his work on Netflix’s original series ABSTRACT: The Art of Design. Additionally, Sorrentino was the executive creative director and chief design officer of WIRED. Sorrentino lead all four of the company’s creative departments, from design and photography to video and production, across print, web, mobile, digital, social, retail, and live events. Previously, Sorrentino was the design director at Condé Nast’s Editorial Development Group, partnering with the leaders of Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair and The New Yorker, to create multiple award-winning digital platforms and products. Prior to joining Condé Nast, Sorrentino led design teams at a variety of media companies. His portfolio includes work from a diverse range of clients, including The Museum of Modern Art, Sony Records, Adobe, and American Express, among others. Sorrentino and the Apple Design Team were awarded the Black Pencil from D&AD and a Cannes Lion for their work on Apple Vision Pro. Previously he was awarded the National Magazine Award for Design. He has also been recognized with multiple Ellie nominations as well as awards from the Art Director’s Club Global, D&AD, The Society of Publication Designers, the Type Director’s Club, American Photography, American Illustration, the One Club, and the Webby Awards. Sorrentino has held faculty positions at New York’s School of Visual Arts (SVA) and regularly speaks publicly on creativity and design in the United States, Europe, and Australia.
