For 2 years I was building a B2C2B travel solution (a gamified travel compass) in an attempt to discover local authentic places.
The mechanism of it worked as following:
We rewarded travelers with tokens for contributing to authentic places / businesses.
These tokens could be used to unlock travel deals nearby or even exchanged for real money.
The community would then upvote the great places, leaving only meaningful contributions in the platform.
The project was closed in September 2018 due to a lack of funding.
