About

Executive with more than 20 years of experience in a large global retail bank (BBVA) in different areas. Despite having a strong background in finance, my career has led me to specialize increasingly in the management of startups and internal corporate ventures. I have also been member of the board of diferentes companies that have played a significant role in BBVA´s digital transformation. Currently, I serve as CEO in BBVA Technology, which employs more than 3,000 software engineers who are key contributors to building and operating BBVA's technology. I am extremely convinced of the importance of leading highly motivated teams to make things happen. I live in Madrid (Spain) and I am proud father of three children.

Tugestionline was an internet company acquired by BBVA in 2006. It provided accounting and tax advisory services through digital channels to SMEs and freelances.
I led a complete turnaround of the company including the development of a new tech platform (80K man-hours), the design and implementation of digital marketing strategy (SEO, SEM, social networks, email marketing, offline, etc …), the re-engineering of operational processes and a deep restructuring of the team (from 54 to 21 ftes).
