I am the founder and principal designer at Open Atelier Mumbai, where my work and the studio’s approach are shaped by the belief that design is about creating meaningful experiences. Every project is an opportunity to craft immersive, emotionally resonant spaces that leave a lasting impact. Music is at the heart of my creative foundation—it’s where I first learned about rhythm, harmony, and emotional tone. These elements now guide my design process, helping me create timeless, forward-thinking, and human-centred environments. Over the past decade, I have led Open Atelier Mumbai in delivering a diverse portfolio of 75+ projects across India and 15+ cities internationally, spanning residential, retail, hospitality, workspaces, and high-end real estate. Our design philosophy blends striking design, smart technology, and meticulous craftsmanship to create spaces that are both intuitive and purposeful. I believe every surface, light, texture, and material has the potential to shape how we experience space. My approach is hands-on, detail-driven, and collaborative, rooted in storytelling and strategic thinking. Along the way, I have had the honour of contributing to design discourse through panel talks and global juries. I am the Founder and Principal Designer at Open Atelier Mumbai, a design studio I established in 2013 with a vision to craft meaningful, future-forward spaces—bold in expression yet rooted in simplicity. Since then, I’ve led the studio in building an award-winning portfolio of over 75 projects across residential, retail, commercial, hospitality, and high-end real estate, spanning India and 15+ cities internationally.
At Open Atelier Mumbai, we approach design as an immersive experience—balancing thoughtful materiality, automation, and bespoke aesthetics with the lived realities of those who inhabit our spaces. Our process is both rigorous and intuitive, shaped by explorations of form, function, and emotional resonance. We collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and craftspeople to push the boundaries of conventional design while staying grounded in context, detail, and purpose.

I founded OfficeBlank in 2009 with Jugal Mistri to push the transnational boundaries of critical architectural practice. Our work was deeply influenced by the dynamic cultural and political contexts in which we operated, balancing these forces to create meaningful design solutions. We focused on exploring urban issues and emerging typologies through digital tectonics and a strong theoretical understanding of creative planning.
At OfficeBlank, I combined expertise from diverse fields—3d fabrication, material research, branding, and architectural design—to develop a cohesive and innovative design methodology. Our approach spanned a wide range of scales, from conceptual design to realised space. I engaged deeply with each project, analysing its context and understanding the client’s needs, which allowed us to transform conceptual visions into tangible, new forms of built space.
